Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Regarding 'Creative Name Signs' Products
Below we have a variety of questions that I get asked often. Although I'm confident that most of these questions have already been answered throughout my website I decided to take some time to add this page. My website is very large and in some cases facts can easily get overlooked.
What are your products made of?
Except for the canvas tote bags and the canvas wall art pieces most of my items are created on wood. I used pine wood for years and still do for the most part. However for the growth charts I began using poplar wood as it is much harder than pine and less likely to get scratches or indents.
How do I hang my personalized signs or canvas wall art piece?
I attach a sawtooth hanger (see photo) to the back of most of my signs, plaques and canvas wall art pieces. However I will gladly attach a ribbon hanger to your item. You can see sample photos of the ribbon hangers throughout my website.
How long will it take for me to receive my order?
My turn around time is about 3-4 weeks. If you stumbled upon my website and have decided to place an order, but you need it sooner than my alotted turn around time please let me know. I always try to work with my customers in situations such as this. If you need your item delivered within a few days then you may need to consider paying an expedited ship fee. To figure that cost you will need to let me know your zip code and I can give you an idea as to how much your ship fee will be.
How do I order?
There are a large number of shopping carts located throughout my website. Most of the sample photos are hyperlinked. Clicking on a photo will direct you to a separate page that displays a larger photo so you can see a close-up of the item you are interested in. Below that larger photo you should find a shopping cart button. If not please feel free to contact me and let me know.
My order is a gift. Can you ship it directly to my loved one?
Absolutely! Just make sure to let me know the 'ship to' address. I'll add a gift card as well.
Why are your prices so high?
This question used to bother me, but I will no longer apologize for my prices. Every item that is sold through my website is handcrafted by me and me alone. Each sign, each plaque, each growth chart begins as a blank piece of wood that I purchase from either Lowe's Department store or Home Depot. I cut each piece of wood, sand it, prime it and then begin the detail work. Each item is created from scratch and no two pieces are exactly alike. I don't simply pull an item off of my inventory shelf and stick it in a box and ship it to you. (I wish it was that easy!) In many cases it can take me hours to create just one item. Many days I feel as if my prices are too low! The bottom line is if you think my prices are too high then you'll have to shop elsewhere. Try going to Target or Walmart and see if you can find anything comparable.
Do you offer discounts if I buy multiple items?
This is dependent on what item you are ordering. I will consider this if all of the items you are ordering are being shipped to a single address.
***Relating to the step stools, however, I cannot offer a discount. I order my step stools online and for me to get just one is very coslty. Then for me to spend the time hand painting them, packaging them and then shipping them can be very costly as well. So discounts will not be considered if you are purchasing a step stool.***
Can I see a photo of my order before it's complete?
Yes, I'll be glad to email a photo of your prodcut before I ship it out. However, do not expect me to make major changes after you see it. Certain small details can be added or altered if possible. Customers need to understand that when you order a custom hand painted piece of artwork for me to make any major changes (such as adding another word or name, moving words around, etc.) is not easy. In many cases I'd have to go back and start all over again. I will do my best to follow your requests when you place your order. I'd estimate that 99% of my customers are very pleased with their completed orders and 99% over a span of 13 years is pretty good in my opinion! It's really all simply a matter of trust in my artwork. If you can't trust that I'll create something to your liking then maybe it's best for you to shop elsewhere.
What if I don't like my finished product? Can I return it?
No I do not offer refunds. If there is an issue of your item being damaged in transit or if there is a blatant error on my part then let me know and we can work something out. But I won't refund your money simply because you don't like how your item turned out.
Let me explain...
I have hundreds of sample photos all over my website. I believe that by looking at those photos you will get a great idea as to my artistic style. Every item I create is from scratch and personalized according to your instructions. I work very hard to make sure I create my artwork in the colors and theme of your choice. Please don't expect me to create what you envision in your mind. I'm an artist not a mind reader. If you are clear about what you want then I will do my best to create what you ask for.
If you aren't confident that I can create what you want then I will repeat what I said above..."It's really all simply a matter of trust in my artwork. If you can't trust that I'll create something to your liking then maybe it's best for you to shop elsewhere."
One final note...
I've been creating custom artwork for more than 13 years and I feel confident in my artistic style and ability. I am a very flexible person and I am always willing to work with my customers. Please don't ever hesitate to ask me questions. I have many, many repeat customers who can attest to this fact. I treat all of my customers with respect and do my best to create something pleasing with every order.
